Today`s harvest was the slender and young delicious field Spring Onion, also known as a Green Onion or Scallion. They have a similiar taste to the onion but with a much milder taste. These can be eaten raw or cooked both just as delicious. These beauties were part of our local share baskets to be delivered to your family tables.
One of my favourite captures from my day on the farm, lunch prep in the farm kitchen. Such a beautiful fresh display of organic deliciousness, a true piece of art! Today, I incorporated two additions to our local Share baskets straight from our fields. Spring Onions and crispy Lettuce. Its going to be a fresh satisfying seasonal bowl.
Lunch is served!! A fresh brown rice Mediterranean bowl filled with local organic goodness featuring our field Spring Onions & Crispy Lettuce. This delicious bowl includes tomato, cukes, goat feta & parsley drizzled with a fresh caper mint sauce. A definite hit and farm family approved!!
