Porridge Oats & Health Grains Honey Walnut Loaf
With Valentines just less than a week away, I have the perfect dessert to celebrate. Not only is it simple to prepare and delicious, its heart healthy! With February being Healthy Heart Month, I have teamed up with Rogers Grains, Canadian all natural Oats with no salt, no sugar, high in fiber with no additives to create this Honey Walnut Cake made with their porridge Oats & healthy grains. It's made with honey to give it a moist sweetness and a hint of cocoa for a chocolaty valentine dessert.

1⁄2 cup (125 mL) 1⁄2 cup (125 mL) 2
1 cup (250 mL) 1 cup (250 mL) 1 cup (250 mL) 2 tbsp (30 mL) 1 cup (250 mL) 1 tsp (5 mL)
1⁄2 tsp (2.5 mL) Pinch
2 tbsp (30 mL)
butter for prepared heart loaf pan or cookie sheet
unsalted butter, softened
raw honey + 2 tbsp. (30 mL) for drizzle large eggs
Greek 2 % vanilla yogurt
ROGERS PORRIDGE OATS & ANCIENT GRAINS
chopped walnuts for topping all-purpose our
cocoa powder (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a 9 x 2 1⁄4 inch heart shape loaf pan with butter.
In a large bowl, beat butter and honey well. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each egg. Mix in yogurt, Rogers Original Porridge Oats Healthy Grains and walnuts until well blended. Stir in our, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder (optional).
Pour batter into loaf pan and bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 min- utes until dark golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 5 minutes, remove and place on wire rack. Drizzle with honey and top with chopped walnuts, serve warm.
Use a 12 X 17 inch cookie sheet, then once baked (30 minutes) and cooled, cut with heart shaped cookie cutters.
This loaf can be stored in an air-tight container for up to three days in the refrigerator. Just reheat, drizzle with honey and serve.
